Series Roman stools

This collection of stools originates from my profound connection with the culture and history of my hometown, Rome.

Well-defined, regular geometric lines distinguish their form, drawing inspiration from two characteristic features of ancient Roman architecture - the arches (originally Etruscan) and the internal scales as structures like in the Pantheon.

Crafted in their first series from a specific type of labeled low-emission concrete that incorporates foam to reduce density – so called ‘aircrete’ – it is reminiscent of one of the most prominent materials Rome is known for. They were cast in a 3D-printed PLA mold reinforced with an internal metal structure. With a deliberate nod to classical aesthetics, I have chosen to embellish these timeless shapes with vibrant colors to captivate one’s attention.

The series has been followed by a model produced in red oak wood, built entirely using a table saw.
